As we’ve been working on the upcoming launch of Typeset Paper Goods, I’ve done a lot of hand lettering and illustration. We have stacks and stacks of paper with all manner of type, flowers, and vines. It’s been a lot of fun, and the illustration part has definitely been a learning process for me, as I have more experience in hand lettering. Nonetheless, I love it, and it’s one of my favorite types of work to do!

One thing that I don’t think I realized before was just how much work and thought creators put into what they make. It’s made me think a lot about how God, as our creator, thinks of us. It’s put me into a mindset to understand, appreciate, and see more deeply. There’s a huge amount of thought and influence behind everything that is made- so much back story. Now I think I understand, too, how we are made in the image of God, because I realize how much of myself goes into what I make. Like those flowers on that note card? They were part of my wedding bouquet that Eric and I grew ourselves. The ferns and peonies that I like to draw all over everything? My grandma always had both of those in her yard when I was growing up, and they are my favorite plants.

There’s a lot that has gone into the making of our paper goods, and we’re so excited to finally hold them in our hands and share them with everyone! You can sign up here to receive a special launch email, hopefully this week!
